a schwarzbier brewed with estate-grown white oak
Brewed in collaboration with our good friends at Homeplace Beer Co. in Burnsville, North Carolina. Mashed with local barley malt along with just a dash of specialty malts to gain color and depth of flavor. Steeped on estate-grown white oak, harvested during the brew day from the back of our beautiful Whippoorwill Farm property. Fermented cool with our preferred house lager yeast and conditioned cold until crisp and crushable. A technique known as spunding, we closed off the fermentation vessel to allow all of the CO2 that would have otherwise been expelled, to be absorbed into solution of the liquid itself. This process yields a beer with a delicate yet dancy mouthfeel.Though dark in color, this dark lager is crushable and dry on the palate. The addition of white oak transcends typical flavor profiles and offers unique vanilla and woody flavors with soft tannins on the finish. A house favorite, this style of brewing, along with the types of ingredients used, help define who we are as a brewery.

Shipping Rules
- Orders are shipped weekly. Please allow at least 7 days for processing and tracking updates.
- If your package is returned to us, we may re-ship it to you for an additional shipping charge equal to the actual shipping cost. Any order that is refused or returned after three attempts to deliver will not be refunded. In addition the buyer will be responsible for any additional feed incurred to have the package returned to us.
- Due to our shipping process, each order can contain either cans or bottles. If you would like to order both cans and bottles, please place two separate orders
- Bottles are shipped in quantities of 1, 2, 4 and 6 bottles
- Cans are shipped in quantities of 6 or 8 cans per order
- We cannot currently ship alcohol to Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Utah, and West Virginia
